Loukas Michalitsis, Performance Engineer, Navarone

Bio: An experienced Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, with 30 years of expertise across diverse roles in the shipping industry. His technical and theoretical background, coupled with programming abilities, has enriched his experience in shipyards, design bureaus, maritime companies, digitalisation firms, research institutes, and small craft manufacturers. Proficient in ship resistance, propulsion, and efficient ship operations, Loukas specialises in Ship Design and Operational Performance Engineering. In his current role as a Performance and Environmental Engineer at Navarone SA, overseeing 27 Handy/Handymax geared bulk carrier vessels, he focuses on fuel savings, commercial profile improvement, and environmental impact mitigation.


Stig Holm, Head of Digital Denmark, MAN Energy Solutions

Bio: Stig Holm is currently Head of Marine & Power Digital & Academies Denmark at MAN Energy Solutions. Prior to this role, he served as Head of Technical Services MAN ES. Stig Holm has been in the Maritime industry for more than 30 years, holding various positions from Technical Superintendent to Technical Director, as well as Director of Fleet Management. He has earned his degree in Marine Engineering from the Copenhagen School of Marine Engineering and Technology Management. With a wealthy experience in the maritime industry, his expertise encompasses People Management, Customer Focus, Strategy Implementation, Business Development, and International Shipping. Stig Holm is an extremely proficient operations professional, who works diligently to develop and digitalize top-quality products that will enable customers to monitor fleet vessels in the most secure and smooth mode possible.


Gregory Puckett, Vice President & Chief Digital Officer, MAN Energy Solutions

Bio: Gregory Puckett is Vice President & Chief Digital Officer for MAN Energy Solutions, leading the company’s global digital strategies and operations. In this role, he is responsible for working with business segments and engineering to identify and deliver digital strategies that drive greater levels of customer satisfaction, produce new revenue sources and make MAN-ES products more efficient.

Gregory has more than 20 years of experience in digitalization and information technologies. Gregory Joined MAN-ES in 2016 to support the establishment of the digital team in MAN-ES. Prior to that Gregory has held digital transformation roles in the HI-TECH and Industrial segments.


Dimitrios Kaklis, Senior Research Engineer, Danaos Research Centre

Bio: Majored in Information and Communication science from National Kapodistrian University of Athens with a specialization in theoretical Computer Science. He received an Industrial PhD scholarship from SNF (Stavros Niarchos Foundation), in collaboration with Harokopio University of Athens and NCSR Demokritos, on “Financial exergy maximization in maritime operations through the lens of AI”. He joined Danaos in 2017 as Software Engineer and currently is working as Senior Research Engineer. Author of several papers and participant-scientific advisor in several EU projects concerning ship operational optimization, safety and environmental compliance.


Yiannis Manolis, Global Head of Business Development, Ideagen Tritan

Bio: Worked in several departments and segments of the maritime industry. Understands the necessary perspective of how different stakeholders need to come together to achieve the optimum results. He is an adaptable person, having worked in multiple countries (Greece, Singapore & UK), with people from diverse backgrounds, in both small and big teams for start-up and blue-chip companies. He is now the global head of business development at Ideagen Tritan where he plays a pivotal role in expanding their network and reach in the maritime space. He connects with ship owners and operators from all segments of the industry.


Nikolaos Tsoulakos, Innovation & Technology Manager, Laskaridis Shipping Co.   

Bio: Nikolaos embarked on his career in the shipping industry nearly 14 years ago. Currently he serves as the Innovation & Technology Manager at Laskaridis Shipping Co. where he is responsible for overseeing the company's innovation strategy. In this capacity, he introduces new ideas, nurtures an innovative organizational culture, and facilitates communication of innovations within the company. Before joining Laskaridis Shipping Co. he gained valuable experience working as a superintendent engineer at reputable Greek shipping companies. He is a graduate of the School of Engineering at the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos, attaining the rank of Engineer C’ Class. He also completed his undergraduate studies in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, as well as earned a Master of Science degree in Marine Science and Technology from the National Technical University of Athens.


Andreas Polidis, IT Advisor, IONIC

Bio: Andreas Polidis has more than 30 years of experience in design and management of  IT&T projects, in various sectors and industries, both in Greece and abroad. The last 10 years focusing in the shipping industry he works with Ionic Shipping (MGT) Inc. as an IT Advisor drawing and implementing company’s IT strategy, to address daily requirements and be prepared for the upcoming challenges.  


Ioannis Rizos, Head of ICT Infrastructure, Dynagas

Bio: Ioannis Rizos has 20-year experience in the maritime industry. He is skilled in Marine Electronics, and Automations (Kongsberg Senior service & commissioning engineer), as well as ICT Management, ICT Strategy, and ICT Security , combined with experience of budget forecasting and planning (ICT Manager in shipping companies). He holds Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Wales.


Thanos Servos, IT Manager, Seaven Tanker and Dry Management

Bio: Thanos is an experienced Information and Communications Technology Manager working in maritime and hospitality industries over 16 years. Throughout his 11-year career in Seaven Tanker Management has been unwavering in his commitment to revolutionizing maritime operation through a trifecta of crew and training and wellness improvement, tasks automation, and safety on operations enhancement initiatives. While he brings experience from the IT Sector, he has also built a solid foundation in Bridge Electronics, Cargo Handling Electronics systems and Engine Monitoring Systems.


Theodore Ioannou, Group Technical Superintendent – Maintenance Strategy, BSM

Bio: Theodore is currently working in the technical department of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) on a group level and is responsible for the Maintenance Strategy of BSM. When he joined the company in 2018, he was on the Performance department for BSM and served as a Fleet Performance Superintendent. For several years Theodore also worked for a reputable software development company in the maritime industry in the area of performance management and energy efficiency as a Performance Engineer. Theodore has a degree as a Naval Architect and Mechanical Engineer and also holds a master’s degree in Computational Fluid Dynamics, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Executive Maritime Management.


Kostas Grivas, Information Security Officer, Angelicoussis Group

Bio: Kostas Grivas develops and implements an information security program at Angelicoussis Group, which includes procedures and policies designed to protect enterprise communications, systems and assets from both internal and external threats. He is a member of the Group’s BCP Management Team, which is responsible to develop, enhance and apply the plan. The Group’s Information Security Management System is certified with the ISO 27001:2013


Timoleon Plessas, Founder, Sealion Engineering

Bio: Timoleon has studied Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and holds a PhD in the field of “Ship Design Optimisation”. He has collaborated with NTUA in EU-funded research projects dealing with various aspects of ship design and operation such as ship design optimization, manoeuvring in adverse weather conditions, simulating energy systems and wind-assisted propulsion. He has published numerous papers in journals and conferences and has served as a reviewer for the “Ocean Engineering” journal. He has also worked in the energy department of a large Greek shipping company (Minerva Group). There, he participated in the monitoring of vessel’s performance by developing sophisticated tools for handling high-frequency data and arranging underwater hull inspections and hull cleanings. He founded Sealion Engineering to utilise his academic knowledge and industry expertise and offer consulting services in the maritime industry.


Achilleas Matthaiou, Energy Performance Specialist, Signal Maritime

Bio: Achilleas Matthaiou currently serves as the Energy Performance Specialist of Signal Maritime. He specializes in optimizing and monitoring the performance of Signal's Pool vessels while also developing vessel performance software solutions for the Signal Group. Before Signal, he gained valuable experience in green shipping and sustainability on international green boat racing competitions like the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. Achilleas studied Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens and Data Science at the Athens University of Economics and Business.


Pavlos Gerardos, IT Infrastructure Supervisor & Information Security Officer, Thenamaris Ships Management Inc.

Bio: Pavlos Gerardos is the IT Infrastructure Supervisor & Information Security Officer of Thenamaris Ships Management Inc. He has extensive experience in IT security and infrastructure projects, with main focus in GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) and network and systems security architecture.
He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Hellenic Open University and a MSc in Information Systems from Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a member of the ISC2 Hellenic Chapter.


Theodoros Stergiou, Director - Risk Consulting, KPMG Greece

Bio: Theodoros is Director and in charge of the Cyber Security Consulting Services of KPMG in Greece. With over 18 years of experience in the information security sector, he has served as a lecturer for the subject matter, a business consultant, as well as security officer for major organizations. He is also involved with new technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) ,cloud computing and serves as an experienced consultant for global organizations like ISACA and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). Theodors holds Ph.D in Engineering from University of Warwick, UK.


Nick Andriopoulos, IT Manager, Heidmar

Bio: Nick has worked in the application development and systems administration side of shipping for more than 10 years, spearheading simplification and interdepartmental collaboration through digitalisation and automation. He has more than two decades of experience in web application development, and high focus on integrating security practices throughout the software development. He is an active member of esteemed industry organizations such as OWASP, ISC2, AMMITEC, and the Drupal Association. Nick’s passions include 3D printing and public speaking.


Dionysis Diamantopoulos, Head Of Alternative Fuels, Baseblue

Bio: Dionysis Diamantopoulos serves as the Head of Alternative Fuels at Baseblue. Focusing on alternative fuels procurement, regulatory compliance, and international bunker trading, Dionysis plays a key role in providing tailored solutions to clients. His expertise in strategic account management and green transition initiatives underscores his commitment to driving sustainability in the industry.  Dionysis holds a PhD in Maritime Studies and a professional qualification from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. He also gives lectures to maritime students at Aegean College.


Theodoros Ntouskas, Managing Director, ICT Protect

 Bio: Theodoros Ntouskas holds a Ph.D. in Information Security from the Informatics Department of University of Piraeus (Greece) and has more than 15 years of experience in the ICT domain, specialising in the Information Security sector. He is the Founder and Managing Director of ICT PROTECT (an information security consulting company), he has been involved in very demanding security commercial projects and he has gained the expertise and the know-how in order to address the security needs of different type infrastructures including maritime sector.
